[As it so happens, Dio's expression was not directed at Trip, and that likely becomes apparent to the boy once his gaze does settle on him again. No, the anger Dio feels and visibly expresses is directed towards his son, which has very little to do with Trip. He'd anticipated that Giorno would monitor his activities. He even imagined that Giorno would see no need to intervene or interfere within certain boundaries, and that those lines were quite flexible and wide from one another because he'd know better than to attempt to micro-manage his father.]

[It's difficult to say whether this silver-haired stranger acted on his own terms, or if he was following orders, but the latter seems far more likely. Giorno wouldn't allow himself to acquire a follower that couldn't be properly leashed. He's too smart for that. Much too smart.]

[But that anger he holds for his son is easy to displace for a couple of reasons. He doesn't particularly want to feel genuine, lasting anger towards Giorno. The situation between the two of them is too precarious as it is for him to risk that. That also means that he can't exactly do anything with that anger towards its intended target, however. It's so much easier to instead let the weight of that anger rest on Trip instead.]
