[Frankly, Dio's not in the mood. Not that he's exactly a paragon of patience most days, but right here and now he doesn't have much patience to offer anyone or anything. Someone else might try to look at this on the bright side, of course. He's clearly not dead here, and there's nothing that absolutely rules out the possibility of him returning to right where he left off. Maybe some other time, when he's had time to put a little more distance between himself and where he left off, he'll think of that. But for right now? Right now, the bitter taste of defeat still lingers on the back of his tongue. Compounding his sour mood even further on that little fact is that he can't do anything about it right now.]

[But Dio is a skilled liar, if nothing else, and he does still possess a modicum of control over his temper that he doesn't throw a tantrum. To do so now would be far, far too costly now that he's found himself thrust into an unfamiliar situation. And he refuses to be caught off-guard right here and now, which means figuring out this...device. There really isn't anything exactly comparable in his world, but Dio's not an idiot. He can figure it out with little trial and error.]

Interesting. [He looks and sounds more pleased than he actually feels when the video feed begins, but it's unlikely anyone would be able to really question how genuine it is.] The technology here is impressive. In my day, there weren't many who would believe something like this is possible. I can only guess as to how clever the minds who dreamed this device in reality truly were and I'm sure this will prove useful moving forward.

[His smile increases only by a fraction, but it carries with it an enormous amount of warmth. Dio is here to play nice.]

[If he were feeling particularly poetic, he might say that time stood still. But saying or even thinking that would be annoying and on the nose, and as such he doesn't bother. Brushes it away like a spider's web.]

[Logic says it's a lookalike, or a trick. Certainly this is well within the realms of possibility, with the life he's lived, and there are plenty of people who'd want him compromised. Fewer who'd know about this particular weakness, and yet it's a possibility.]

[He doesn't answer until he's quite composed, his features alabaster-smooth, eyes blue and tranquil as a deep lake on a calm day. Although he doesn't smile.]

You'd be shocked at what they've done with special effects these days, signor.

[ Well HELLO guy who sets off every warning bell he has and reminds him WAAAAAAAY too much of his own father why is this a thing why is this ever a thing? Well, time to play nice and see if his warning bells have a point...

The young man in the video is effortlessly beautiful, infinitely graceful even in his simple movements. He's also giving off an air of vague, general boredom with a side of vapidness.]

[It's still a little weird, thinking about the idea of people coming from such vastly different worlds. Harry wouldn't know what to do without all the technology back home. A lot of people wouldn't, really. They'd all come to rely on it, but perhaps Harry did more than the others, given that much of his secret identity made use of high-tech weapons and tools. That's why he avoided the City of Sorcery when he could help it.

This guy, though... he seems nice enough. Harry was no science whiz, but maybe he could lend a hand if he's got questions or... not getting along with the tech.]

It's pretty cool. My home's got some pretty amazing technology, but it's nothing compared to this. [He scratches the side of his face a bit.] I know it can be kinda overwhelming when you first arrive.
