[Here appears someone who hasn't been seen on the network or in the city for some time. Azula looks much healthier than last she was seen on the network, but it certainly hasn't been because she's been at home. No, she crawled off to a Chinese historical drama setting to recover from her injuries ~~and totally not because of the mun's RL circumstances, sorry guys~~.]

Hello? I'm getting bored holed up here, and I think I'm well enough to start venturing out again. So...who's here? I'm Azula.

My communicator stopped working for like... two years. Only apparently, here? It was like a week.

Well, yeah. I haven't seen you for like, two years. If you've got the time to do something, I'd love to go out and do something.

I'd like that. I found a place that's kind of similar to the Fire Nation, actually. It's not quite right, but it's way more familiar than where I turned up at first. Do you want to meet me here? There's a lovely tea shop.

Actually it's just on the Romance side of the border between Romance and Adventure. Have you heard of 'Five Kingdoms City'?

[A town based on the innumerable love stories set during the 'Five Kingdoms' era of China. It's close to Adventure, since the warring Five Kingdoms provides plenty of action, but the meat of such dramas is always the love between the hero and his sweetheart.]

Yeah, I just needed some time to recover from everything. This town's been good to me. It's definitely not too different from home. Except without the usurper brother to deal with.

That's... definitely a plus, I'd figure.

Tell me about it. Unfortunately, they're having a little mini war from another town just on the Adventure side of the border, so it could get dicey here. I'm probably well enough for combat now, though.

[Angela doesn't know this person, but a part of the message kicks up her doctor-mom-worry-senses. So she butts in anyway, despite her fear of being unwelcome in the discussion.]

First of all welcome back, for what good the welcome of a stranger will do. I'm sorry if I come across as invasive, but you say you think you're "well enough" - were you ill or injured in some way?

If you're at all concerned about your health I can check you over. I work for free, so there's nothing to lose by getting a once-over just to be safe.

I don't go near doctors. They're the ones that did this to me.

[Angela is a bit taken aback. That's not a sentiment she hears often; it makes her twice as curious as to what happened to this woman.]

I assure you I am in the business of healing the ill, not harming them. Any doctor that does otherwise is either a failure or a monster. I don't know the extent of your injuries or illness, or the circumstances that led you to have such a distrust of medical professionals, but know that my offer does now and will always stand.

[Azula flips on the video. She's scary-skinny, like she's just recovering from two years of starvation conditions.]

I was even thinner than this when I got here, to say nothing of the bruising.

[She pulls up the sleeve of her hanfu to display scarring indicative of having been in shackles for some time.]

They said it was to 'help' me, that I needed to be tormented for my own good. No one can fix what's wrong. But everyone's lining up to make it worse.

((OOC - Relax, darling! Azula's reactions are purely her own.))

[This. This makes Angela's blood boil. There is nothing - no crime, no action, no aggression - that deserves this sort of treatment. She switches to video as well. Text simply won't do right now.

Her expression is stern, fierce. There's fire in her eyes and her lips are pressed tightly together. Angela Ziegler doesn't care whether someone is a stranger or a sibling when it comes to this level of damage.]

I will not ask what happened to cause you to be this malnourished, or what your scars are from. If what you say is true, and "doctors" are at fault, then there is absolutely no excuse for what has been done to you. But what is "wrong" can be fixed now. Not reversed, not undone, but repaired. I cannot change what was done, but we can change what happens next.

[She sits up straight in her chair and locks eyes with Azula through the camera. Her coworkers would have recognized it as the "parts of you are going to be replaced today" posture.]

I likely don't need to tell you that you need a gradual increase of small, easily digestible meals and ample fluid intake. You will need sugar, too - you are FAR too thin for the natural sugars in most foods to be sufficient.

[She knows she's being long-winded, but the gears are turning in her head as to how she can best fix this.]

The scarring around your wrists might be faded or repaired by repeated biotic therapy under the Caduceus staff. You mentioned bruising - I would need to examine the bruises to assess the damage, but depending on the depth of the bleeding and how long you've had them we should be able to fully repair cosmetic damage and slow or reverse more permanent damage.

That is, if you are willing to be seen by me. It looks like your distrust in doctors is well-earned. Torment is not treatment. I have seen enough of both to know the difference.

I've been hiding for several months. Since I got here, basically. The bruising's gone away for the most part, but it still aches where it was at its worst.

[She frowns, studying the woman. That look in her eyes...it's very much like Katara's, when Katara would get riled up about the Fire Nation. Maybe it would be safe, to be on the other side of that rage. Maybe.]

[She rattles off directions for a town just on the Romance side of the border between Romance and Adventure.]

I'll meet you in the town square. [Where she'll have a chance to cause loads of chaos if she needs to protect herself and escape.]

[She stifles a sigh of relief - she doesn't really want Azula to see how afraid she was of being turned away - but her expression softens considerably.]

I know you don't trust me, so thank you for giving me a chance. I have no formal hospitals or clinics to drag you off to but I assure you I'd never force you to go if I did. One of the blessings of being a field medic is that you don't NEED state of the art facilities to save lives!

I'm situated in the Outpost, so I'm not too far away. [A pause. Maybe she should bring some sort of peace offering? She doesn't have much in the way of gifts to give - and she only has about 20 dollars of donated money to spend - but that should be enough to pick up a pastry or something from the canteen. And this kid could definitely use a pastry or something. And she could get a guilty pleasure sticky pecan roll bun things for herself. Yes this is a good plan.] Normally I wouldn't encourage the consumption of junk food, but do you like pecans?

I...don't think I've had such a thing before? But if you think it'll help me put some weight back on, I'll eat it whether I like it or not.

[Azula is much more concerned about being practical with her health than she is with gifts. It's definitely not something that comes to her mind very often.]

There's lychees here, I've been snacking on those between meals, trying to eat a little bit once an hour or so.
