WSFC Broadcast - 0004 June 24th
Goood morning listeners. Your favorite host, [ static ] here, bringing you the news from the top-top-top of the City of Tomorrow in the Seven-Fold City.
The folks over at St. Vidicon Science Academy are finally offering booth space out to non-student contestants at the STEM fair they'll be holding in a couple of weeks time. Interested parties should make sure to fill out the form linked from this broadcast if they're interested in showcasing their scientific and or mathematical marvels for all the City to see. Folks who are interested in attending can just show up since the STEM fair is, as always, free for all comers.
[ There's a biiiiit of a pause. ]
Apparently, there's a bit of a treasure hunt going on in Shadows at the moment. A priceless diamond, the Eye of Julius, has been stolen from a museum within their borders and while no one's quite sure who's behind the theft, the leaders of the City are offering a reward for the return of the jewel. It's said to be colored a faint golden color and ... wow, roughly the size of a child's fist. If anyone has any tips, we encourage our listeners to call in or contact the local authorities.
Kingsport University is having their graduation ceremony this week, which, as we all know, usually means that it's about the time when some of the students get more than a little inebriated and wander into the forbidden tomes section. If you happen to be on the campus, we encourage you to avoid any and all libraries and run if something makes a wet thumping sound anywhere near you.
Over in Sorcery, The Slaughtered Boar is opening up a couple of positions for waitstaff. Offered in return is a uniform, room and board, and a reasonable paycheck with the guarantee that tips are both encouraged and welcomed at the establishment for the servers there. He does request, however, that any interested parties make sure they're ready to work on their feet and hussle for the questing season that'll be coming up soon.
Little Anviltown is having it's yearly Banana Festival. Between the banana cream pies, the banana peels, and the dirty jokes around bananas, you're certain to have a grand old time if you come in looking for it. Anyone else heading to Little Anviltown should probably make sure they're ready to either duck or dodge.
Heading over to Adventure, we're getting reports of a rise in Ancient Mine--
Wait.
Does this say-
Ohhh.
[ There's a cough and a swallow. ]
So apparently, there's been a migration of late and a number of Ancient Mimes have been spotted hassling travelers at the Outpost. Clown hunting this year wasn't nearly as successful as it usually is and the mimes, desperate for street corners and audiences, have made their way to Adventure.
Huh.
So, uh, I'm sure they're working on containing the issue, but for the moment, don't be surprised if you happen to encounter a mime or two while you're buying supplies for your trip through the wilds.
[ He clearly starts settling back in his chair before continuing. ]
In other news, Fashion Avenue will be having a fashion show in the coming weeks, showing off the new collections to come next season. Tickets go on sale this week, with all proceeds going to the St. Jude's Food Bank.
And last but not least, it looks like the Mapmaker's Guild might be on the way to having a few new islands charted. Nothing quite yet, but we'll keep you posted on that story.
That, as they say, is that, folks. So I leave you with this:
