WSFC - Broadcast 0001 - May 4th
[ The speaker's voice is smooth and low, friendly and appealing, though also somehow nondescript. He is The Man on the Radio, and he's here to give you your newscast. ]
Good afternoon, listeners. This is [ static ] here, broadcasting live from the rockin' spot over the lot, the Satellite, right here in the City of Tomorrow. If it's happening, you know WSFC is there. So, without further ado...
The St. Vidicon Science Academy announced that they'd be hosting their first ever open-door STEM Fair. The St. Vidicon's opening this up to anyone willing to take a booth, regardless of universe, UC or NC. We'll keep you posted as details come to us, but you might want to get your research engines revving because the competition will be fierce.
Over in the City of Shadows, Innsmouth Psychiatric Hospital has just broken ground on their new wing. The Board of Directors for the asylum, well known and loved in the City, have promised that the new addition to the facility will help with many of the security concerns that were raised during the last election season. For the most part, reception for the changes has been positive, though some note that the construction itself may be cause for concern. No comment from the Board on that note, but we'll be sticking with it as the story develops.
Claudette St. Clare, renowned proprietress of the Corvid, has announced that she is hiring. Applicants should be prepared to work the night shift, but other than that, she's willing to take all comers. Make your way over to Nightmares after sundown if you're interested! Or, you know, don't if you actually value your life over the possibility of employment.
Reports are coming in that the Dark Forest seems to be shifting position of late. Travelers in Sorcery are advised to keep a look out for shadows behaving irregularly or any particularly strong feelings of being watched from behind.
Super Funland is running a special this week: kids under 10 get in for free, couples are buy one get one half off! So if you've been putting off a trip to the premier amusement park here in the SFC, don't put it off any longer!
From all accounts, Adventure's been quiet this week, which experts claim is probably the most terrifying bit of news you could get from the city. Our correspondent there, [ static ], has been standing by. The jungle seems to be quiet for now, but we'll keep an eye on this story as it possibly unfolds.
Last, but of course, never least, the City of Romance has also been quiet, but we have some word that a new shop has opened up on Fashion Avenue. Unlike most of the other boutiques and high-fashion options available at the SFC's premiere terrestrial shopping spot, this appears to be a small hole-in-the-wall with a bohemian and vaguely esoteric air, which the genre savvy will note has a very good chance of being a love potion vendor. These kinds of goods don't come around every day and they tend to disappear after a few cases of true love have worked themselves out, so run, don't walk, if you need a little romance in your life.
That's all that we've got for you folks today, but of course, if anything comes up, you know WSFC will be on the scene. But for now, back to your regularly scheduled musical programming...
