Guess where I am!

[A grey face appears on the screen, surrounded by thick black hair and a pair of cat shaped horns. Two gray eyes peer out from within that mass of hair and a smile beams brightly. The camera pulls back a little to show off the lovely river she's beside and dips and twists as she fumbles to show off the buildings nearby. It would appear she's in the City of Romance but that might only be because there's far more couples walking by than seems normal]

My device finally decided to work! I'm not purrticularly sure where I am but it's wonderful. And it's so bright! I've never been anywhere so bright. And everything is covered in white and it's just--gorgeous. I've never seen anything like it.

[And when words finally seem to fail her, she squeals and spins in place] Oh efurryone home is going to be so jealous. Kurloz and me meeting strange new people!

So--So, where is efurryone? I am here. [She holds up her device and makes a slow circle. It looks like she's near the border of Tommorow and Romance] Directions would be nice!

Um...no. Well I am one of his new friends, but not the "angel friend". Has he told you about a mage friend, by any chance? My name is Katherine.

[She still doesn't know what a matesprit is. But it sounds important.]

Ohhh. No! He hasn't exactly!

[She beams brightly and gestures wildly at Katherine]

But he has told me about a magic and tattoo furiend! That must be you, Kat. Can I call you Kat? It's so purrfect.

[She lifts a hand to touch fingertips to a tattoo when they're mentioned, and grins a little brighter.]

I don't see why not. Did your love of cats shape your horns?

[Because she hasn't missed that this is like the third cat pun she's made. Does she mention she might be able to become a cat if she set her mind to it? Or does she keep that a secret?]

Huh. [She touches her horns and gives it some serious thought]

Meowbe! I've always liked cats. My lusus is a cat. A magnificent purrbeast. But I think my horns were always like this.

[boundinblood]

I wouldn't know how your kind is born, or how your horns grow. Yours are very different from Kurloz's. It's an interesting coincidence, at least.

[She's a lot more coherent than Kurloz, though - which gives her the idea to maybe ask this troll about things instead.]

...What is a "lusus", anyway? Kurloz seemed to assume my dog was one, and I don't know what one is.

Oh we hatch! We hatch with little horns and eyes in our color--grubs are so cute. And then we pupate into this sort of form. All four limbs and things!

[She beams, unaware of how creepy this might sound]

And lusii are our guardians! After we pupate, we're still sort of small and lusii are our guardians who take care of us until we're old enough! Do you not have guardians?

So you're-...you're like human-shaped insects, then? We're, um...we have the same basic shape from birth, we don't pupate. We're birthed live, like...

[Is there a thing she would have a frame of reference- oh!]

...like a cat, and the adults in our lives take care of us, like your lusii do. Or...like a mother cat, I suppose. Normally, it's our parents, or some other relative.
