[Of all the things that have happened to Giorno Giovanna in his young life — well. This isn't not weird, but it's also not the weirdest. He's still in his own body and no parts of his face are being sliced off, so honestly it's okay. That, and the fact that he's done a fair amount of recon already, plus the fact that anyone who comes after him is in for a nasty surprise, is what makes him look so aggressively serene when he addresses the network.]

[That, plus he just always looks like the offspring of Michelangelo's collected works and Italian fashion week. If he lays on the accent a little thick, it's probably not for nefarious reasons (but it might be) (at least a little nefarious).]

Ah, buonasera, hello everyone! I'm sure you are all very busy on a Friday night, but I wanted to at least say hello as a new arrival. I'm still trying to get a feel for everything at the moment [this is not true] but so far this place seems very . . .

There's so much to see. And I guess that's about the whole city, but it's still pretty amazing. I come from a really small town.

I think even a small part of this place would be overwhelming for someone from a small town. I've spent most of my life in cities, but even so.

And I've mostly stuck to Tomorrow. There's a lot up in the Satellite too so I haven't had much reason to leave yet. But I'm going on a boat trip with some of the others to see one of the islands soon!

Well, "new world" is redundant, considering, so maybe sterile? For my tastes, anyway. Lots of glass, not enough stone. Mm, but it sounds like you've had more time to explore than me overall, that's lucky.

By some bizarre coincidence, that's where I've ended up. It's actually really lovely, you know, and the skyline's less . . . blinding.

[Part of Giorno wants to ask, ARE YOU SERIOUS, in all caps, but he's pretty sure that this is the height of seriousness. Not upsetting mothers, good lord. In what world is that a thing that people worry about? It's naive and charming and already he is just thrilled to be here.]

A day trip might be a better idea, then. It's not as though everything around here costs.

Technically, I'm still grounded. But she's softening up a little on it since my face healed up.

But that's what I've been doing. I hit the transport button when I go to bed for the night.

I feel a little bad for not telling her but I can't NOT go. And she'd just freak out.

[Oh lord. Well, that's very plaid, but we're going to be nice (for now) and act like that's acceptable behavior for a human and/or alien being. To Giorno's credit, one of his best friends walks around on the regular with swiss cheese holes cut out of his otherwise decent suit, so he's able to keep a straight face.]

That doesn't really answer my question, you know. But I'll allow it.

[ ...suffice to say that Clark Kent has never seen anyone quite like Giorno before. Ever. The fascination and yes, a bit of awe, is so easy to read in his eyes it's almost laughable. He can see Giorno's not actually that old, but he's so... elegant. And poised. And if he weren't Clark Kent, there'd be envy in there but instead, there's just the emotional equivalent of 'you are so cool' eyesparkles. But when the mention of something happening to his face again comes up, he hunches a little. God, he's so embarrassed about the whole thing...]

She woulda known anyway, since the sheriff got involved. I live in a pretty small town and word gets around. That's how I knew in the first place.

[ It occurs to him that Giorno's request is a little odd, but given what HE can do- ]

Are you some kind of doctor?

[What a charming and impossible person. Not his kind of charming, either, it's just effortless. And sweet. He puts his chin in his hand, literally, because honestly guileless people are as rare these days as dinosaurs and he wants to observe.]

I'm some kind of something, yes.

[A beat.]

You're not an awfully skeptical person, are you? What I mean by that is — given the nature of this place, and the fact that you seem to believe what's happening is real, you're well-enough acquainted with the more-than-normal that if I tell you something unusual, you won't insist I'm wrong?

[Dang. Is this guy glamorous looking or what? Harry always tries to make sure he looks nice - with a stylish suit and tie to match - but this guy kind of takes it to a whole new ballpark.]

Hey, hey. [And Giorno gets a small wave.] Welcome, I guess?

There's a lot to look at, that's for sure. The City of Tomorrow's been... uh, the least treacherous visit for me so far, so I've been kind of sticking here. Poking my nose into all the tech.

{ Clark can't help the blushing little smile that slips into his lips. It's not mean-spirited or mocking. But... Him? Skeptical? His mother has been on every possible conspiracy site in the world trying to help find out more about him. And he, well... He came from a space ship. Yeah, no, not at all skeptical. }

No, I won't. I... learned pretty early not to discount something just because it sounds a little wild.

Least treacherous is not really a winning recommendation, so I guess your job back home isn't writing travel brochures? That's two for Tomorrow, anyway. Tomorrow and glass and tech. What kind of tech?

[He smiles, wide and bright and soft all at once.]

I really don't like it when people don't believe me, do you? So it's always nice to check.

In answer to your question: no, I'm not a doctor, but if you get injured I can heal you. If you lose a limb, I can almost certainly grow it back. I'd still advise that you don't, but, well. Just in case.

[ Those are some wide eyes, but they're not disbelieving. They're just amazed. ]

Oh wow. That's... that's awesome. I can't do anything like that. That's... really neat, oh. And [ a slight duck ] a really nice offer. I mean, I don't think there's much that could tear my arm off, but it's good to know that I don't have to get her upset if I get hurt.

It wouldn't do to see anyone suffer for no reason, in my opinion.

[The "for no reason" is a pretty key detail there, but all things considered he did offer out of the goodness of his heart. Curiously, he cocks his head, a smirk tugging at the corner of his mouth.]

But it makes sense that some people here will be hardier than others. That means I don't have to worry about you, either.

[ Yeah, that's gonna get some sheepishness because he'd been amazed enough that he hadn't really-- well, when most of the town KIND of knows... ]

Yeah, I'm kinda... hardy's a good word.

[ Sheepishness increasing by 40% ]

[ It seemed only fair, after all. Giorno had told him about what he could do, after all. ]

[Giorno is really interested in this apparently unkillable boy.]

That's very impressive.

It'd be more impressive if I hadn't gotten shot, honestly.

[He's joking. It's some gallows humor, but that pretty much is his business. The smile's still warm, anyway.]

I won't ask what happened. That seems like the sort of thing that might be personal. But if you want to tell me, you're welcome to. I haven't been shot in the face, but I did have a large portion of my throat excised once, so.
