[The feed starts with the view of a cloudy sky, with something zooming overhead that sounds like it's right out of a Jetsons cartoon. Clint's really bad at adjusting his CALL device, but he gets it upright soon enough.

Mostly.

He's sitting cross-legged on the pavement in front of what looks like a junkyard-- or 'recycling center' according the holographic sign blinking above one of the fenced buildings behind him. There's something of clunky, mangled looking toy robot draped across his knee and he gestures with a screw driver.]

So I don't have a good history with robots but-- This little guy started following me around about a week ago. [He holds up the toy, which looks a bit like the battered love child of Wall-E and a rock em sock em robot.] And today he just sorta... stopped. [A little shake rattles it's limbs about, and yeah... it's dead, Jim.]

And I can't so much as program a VCR, so if anyone knows anything about... this sort of thing, I'd appreciate the help.

[ Clark had been hoping and checking and even begging for his CALL device to turn on for three years. He'd checked dutifully at least once a week to see if the damn thing would get out of it's funk and he'd always thought that having it turn back would be a day he might just throw a small party over. Today, however, was not that day. Not when the soft beep of the CALL device turning on was almost covered up by the blaring klaxons of literally every alarm on the small plane blaring in his ear. Which was fair, really, since they were three seconds from making a water landing.

Suffice to say that Clark didn't actually get to pull out his device until later. You know. AFTER he's gotten mixed up in literally the stupidest thing he's ever heard of.]

Okay, one? I really missed you guys.

And two, has anyone here ever heard of Bruce Wayne or Oliver Queen?

[Dave is always coming and going between his homeworld and the SFC, and every time he presses that transport button, every time he tells his girlfriend and his master but not his parents everything he's seen, more questions form in his mind.]

Surprise, the multiverse exists! So now you can explore, learn, and then... what happens then? Have you gone home after visiting the SFC? And what did you do? Just... went on like always?

Have you made toast while thinking about unicorns and non-fatal anvils?

Is it weird to come to the meta-universe hub and take advantage of a temporal anomaly to finish your paper on oscillation?

Is normal life overrated? Am I thinking too much?

[He got carried away and wrote without really thinking (the irony). So a second texts comes after that.]

Rhetorical question, don't answer the last one.

[After another moment, a third text arrives to finally close the feed.]

PS: Is anyone else going to check out the Inverted Cathedral? Because if I go alone I just know it won't end well.

[ Karen takes a breath, as if she's uncertain about this whole prospect. Sending out a message on an unknown social network, not her favorite thing in the world. But it's absolutely killing her, not knowing what this is or where it came from. ]

Uh, hello? I just had this device with my name on it appear on my desk at work this afternoon. And no one around the office seemed to have any idea what it is or how it got here. So, I left in my desk. At work.

And now I'm at home. And it's on my desk. At home. I know because I called work and Sandra checked my desk drawer, and it's not there anymore. I'm really curious to know where it came from and why it's following me.

Anybody here have any clue what's going on? What does this big Transport button mean? Is this some kind of time share deal because I'm a journalist and I don't make enough money for a time share. Or is this about the Fisk thing? Is that why someone sent me this?

Anyway, hi. I'm Karen Page, I work at the New York Bulletin and I live in Hell's Kitchen. If anyone here can fill me in, I'd be thrilled. Thanks again.

[Hi! here's a crooked camera angle of Clint, he sort of looks like he just woke up-- or just had an exciting brawl with a box of bandaids. Either way it's not a good look.

He scratches at at least a day's worth of scruff on his chin and reaches to straighten his CALL device out... it's still crooked but A for effort, right?]

So this lets me talk to all you guys in that crazy city, right? Cities... place, wold? I kinda got the run down -- and had a look around? Also pretty sure I almost had to fight a dragon but...

Um. Hi, I'm Clint and I'm the new guy?

Where do I get coffee around here?

Hello!

[That's a good start, he thinks.]

I'm quite new here-- this is all quite fascinating. How many others are there here? What are your worlds like? I know those are rather broad questions, but I've never encountered people from other worlds before-- or at least, not friendly ones. Do you have magic where you're from? Is the technology anything like it is here? What--

[Breathe, Merlin. He cuts himself off with an apologetic little grin.]

Sorry. But it's exciting, isn't it! I'm in-- I think it's called Sorcery? But I'm going to be heading through all the bits of the city over the next few weeks-- or, at well, as much as I can, anyway, I'm manservant to a prince, I can't just disappear for ages, even he'd notice-- but when I'm here, anyway. Have any of you ever encountered devices like these? They're terribly convenient, I wish I could take it back home.

Oh! Sorry-- my name's Merlin!

Has anyone seen a clockwork owl flying around? She answers to Aithne.
...Or should answer anyway.
If you have, please let me know.
And, you know. Maybe try to stop her from escaping again?
Thanks.

[A short moment passes before a second text arrives.]

Or if you want to contribute to science, stand near to her and take note of whatever may happen to your device. Any bit can be important.
Thanks again.

[ooc: Dave has brought a friend from the island trip! And he's working on connecting her to the devices. Feel free to make your character find her and, if they try the device experiment, they'll find on their screen whatever Aithne is seeing and/or hearing (like a picture/video of the characters themselves!).]

[Of all the things that have happened to Giorno Giovanna in his young life — well. This isn't not weird, but it's also not the weirdest. He's still in his own body and no parts of his face are being sliced off, so honestly it's okay. That, and the fact that he's done a fair amount of recon already, plus the fact that anyone who comes after him is in for a nasty surprise, is what makes him look so aggressively serene when he addresses the network.]

[That, plus he just always looks like the offspring of Michelangelo's collected works and Italian fashion week. If he lays on the accent a little thick, it's probably not for nefarious reasons (but it might be) (at least a little nefarious).]

Ah, buonasera, hello everyone! I'm sure you are all very busy on a Friday night, but I wanted to at least say hello as a new arrival. I'm still trying to get a feel for everything at the moment [this is not true] but so far this place seems very . . .

[Say something Nice.]

Well-organized? [Lord.]

Mm, you can always reach me here, of course; I'm making my way through all of the different parts of the city, so if anyone needs anything, I'm happy to help! And then before I go, I wanted to ask: what are your favorite things about the parts of the city you are in? Or least favorite, I suppose, but let's at least start positively, please.

Hi, I'm Scott!

There was a message for a ReQuest on the app the other day talking about some "Land of Brass" and I was wondering if any of you out there wanted to go see it? I got this guy named Clark (smallvilleguy on this... network? Is it called a network?) who agreed to team up with me, so that makes us two already.

Also I have no idea what crap'll be out there but it'll probably be MARGINALLY safer if people had other people watching their backs!

Sooo... what are your first words to the multiverse supposed to be? Hi? Something deep? "It is hard to understand nothing, but the multiverse is full of it."

[Great first impression, Dave. Always so good at this socializing deal.]

...maybe I should stick to hi. I have lots of questions but half of them are like, is there an Earth with rainbow coffee? Is there is a version of New York without traffic jams?

[Wouldn't that be magical? Look, these are important questions, ok! ...ok, maybe not. Think, Stutler, there must be something worth to tell the network.]

Curiosity brought me here. All the new knowledge. Adventure too I guess? Is there any other reason to come?

[Because as much as he appreciates the opportunity he found in that device, it suddenly appearing one day is still kinda weird... Maybe he can start a better traveling plan with some opinions.]
