[ Karen takes a breath, as if she's uncertain about this whole prospect. Sending out a message on an unknown social network, not her favorite thing in the world. But it's absolutely killing her, not knowing what this is or where it came from. ]

Uh, hello? I just had this device with my name on it appear on my desk at work this afternoon. And no one around the office seemed to have any idea what it is or how it got here. So, I left in my desk. At work.

And now I'm at home. And it's on my desk. At home. I know because I called work and Sandra checked my desk drawer, and it's not there anymore. I'm really curious to know where it came from and why it's following me.

Anybody here have any clue what's going on? What does this big Transport button mean? Is this some kind of time share deal because I'm a journalist and I don't make enough money for a time share. Or is this about the Fisk thing? Is that why someone sent me this?

Anyway, hi. I'm Karen Page, I work at the New York Bulletin and I live in Hell's Kitchen. If anyone here can fill me in, I'd be thrilled. Thanks again.

You mean like, it'll teleport me? Is that even possible?

Saying so from experience. I go there most nights after I'm done with my homework, before I go to bed.

Oh that's amazing. What's it like to be teleported? Are there any after effects? Should I wear comfortable shoes?

It's kinda weird. Sort of blink and suddenly you're in a totally different place. It's actually weirder because there's no sound or lights or funky flashes. Just blink. Boop.

No after effects that I've noticed. Though sometimes it messes with my sleep if I don't time it right.

Um.

You can wear whatever shoes you want, I guess. Some places are better than others for nice shoes.

I'm getting the sense that this is like Starktech or something. Highly advanced, probably classified. I have no idea why they'd pick me for something like this, but maybe somebody on that end can clue me in. Anything else you think I should know before I pop over for a visit?

The lady at the front desk at McAran didn't seem to know why we got them, though. But she had a bunch of other answers.
